How to Properly Paint/Repair your Stucco Home, by Busby Finishes

Busby Finishes has been doing stucco repair and painting work for decades and understand the unique aspects of this type of painting. Stucco is extremely common in Santa Fe and Albuquerque so it is vitally important to hire a painter who understands all aspects of this type of painting work. To start it depends on if this is new stucco or not, if it is new the stucco will need a durable exterior block filling primer applied, preferably oil based. Next if it isn't new stucco it likely has several cracks that need to be patched, for this I recommend masonry caulking. For larger patches I recommend using standard stucco patch. Finally comes the painting you want to use elastomeric paint, it is rubberized, extremely durable paint that will last several years. For best application possible use a spray rig and back roll afterwards to ensure the texture of the stucco has all areas painted. In addition you want to use a nap that is at least 1 1/2 inches thick and made of sheep skin to ensure the best finish possible. If completed properly you shouldn't need to get another paint job on your exterior stucco for up to 15 years. Are you looking for a painter in the Albuquerque or Santa Fe area?
